About the Author

JJ Anderson earned her B.S. in Industrial Engineering in 2019 and now works in data science. Pursuing her long-running love of storytelling, she started writing on the side in late 2021. She enjoys spending time with her massive extended family, doting on her dog, and drawing, but always finds time for more writing and world-building.
She considers her husband as her creative partner-in-crime, as his world-building advice was essential to the completion of The Edict of Alchemy.

I do not use AI in my writing or artwork ever, except for basic grammar suggestions or for occasionally applying masks or textures to digital assets. I believe that writing, art, and humanity’s many other creative endeavors cannot and should not be replaced by a regurgitation machine because this undermines the soul and purpose of creating.
That said, I have created most of my marketing materials, cover artwork, and other graphics in Canva Pro, and cannot 100% guarantee that the assets I used from their library were not AI generated or assisted. I try my best to choose assets that are high-quality and seem human-made, but this is increasingly a difficult task. When appropriate, I work with vintage, digitally restored assets from Century Library, and strongly recommend their work.
