Some Exciting News, and How You Can Support

Hi everyone! I’ve been busy querying away, but it’s been a few weeks since my last update so I thought I’d give an update on my publishing journey.

Because I haven’t had much luck with securing a deal with an agent or publishing house, I mulled it over and decided to get an editor. Although more expensive than letting a publishing house front the cost, I believe this path forward will help me polish my story even more, increasing my chances of success in publishing (whether self or traditional). Additionally, it may reduce the timeline if I secure and agent or publishing house, as there will be less work that will need to be done on the book before its launch date.

So, starting in February, I will be working with a developmental editor who has worked with big names such as Brandon Sanderson and Dan Wells! She is super thorough and detail oriented, and her portfolio and reviews are glowing.

Needless to say, I’m super honored and excited that she wanted to take this project on! Because this arrangement is going to be an unforeseen expense however, I am setting up a way any of you can support this project financially: through the Ko-fi linked below (also available on a new page called “Support”).

I want to add that I have the funds to cover this edit on my own, and I do not expect anyone to contribute unless you can and want to! But any help is greatly appreciated, and I think this could be one way for friends and fans to support the project if so inclined. Feel free to donate whatever you desire to the fund, and leave your name or handle so I can see what you sent! Depending on your level of support, I may end up sending a special thank you note, mentioning you in the book’s acknowledgements, or sending you a signed copy if and when it gets published.

Once again, I appreciate everyone’s support, even if it’s a simple like or share. The amount of encouragement and feedback I’ve received both online and in person has been astounding, and makes me want to present you all the best book that I can. Thank you so much, and I’ll hopefully have more updates soon!
