The Edict of Alchemy’s Final Draft is Finished!

After three laborious years of drafting, revisions and rewrites, I made the remaining changes to The Edict of Alchemy’s manuscript yesterday, July 20th, 2024. The final draft is done!

I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported me during the writing process, friends and beta readers alike, and especially my husband, who was extremely thorough in his editing process and worldbuilding revisions. His suggestions for Aruiyah’s character arc and showcasing the alchemical magic system were excellent additions!

What’s next?

Now that the manuscript is finalized, I am going to spend this next week focusing on polishing my query letter, and review my list of agents to query. This is essential in getting representation for my book. After this phase, I will re-read my manuscript one last time to ensure quality before sending it off to agents!

In terms of my publishing timeline, I am right on track. However, obtaining a literary agent can be a time consuming process, ranging anywhere from several weeks, to months, or even years (if at all)! Because I am invested in seeing this title on a bookstore’s bookshelf someday, I am committed to making this process as smooth as possible.

I will, of course, be updating this newsletter with each update I get, whether it be good or bad news. In the meantime, wish me luck and thank you for your continued support!
