My second beta-read was completed this morning, and the feedback was great! Overall, the reader really loved the book but suggested a few key areas of improvement, primarily around clarity and tightening pacing. Because this book is something I merely do in my free time, I think a month or two should be sufficient for me to make the necessary edits. After that, my husband has graciously volunteered to complete a beta read, and I expect him to be my harshest and most thorough critic (which is a good thing)!

In terms of a timeline, I expect to have the completed manuscript ready for agents anywhere between May 2024 to August 2024. I already have a drafted query letter ready for that stage of the publication process, which I plan to polish up in the meantime. During my final beta read stage, I will also be revising my map to more accurately describe the world, as this supplementary material was suggested by both my first and second beta readers due to the large nature of the world.
